Quick Quacks get kitted up in preparation for a club ride in Wales
We aim to have two meetings a year. Members take it in turns to organise these near their homes, sorting out a nice hotel and a good ride-out. We aim to have one meeting broadly in the North of the UK and one in the South of the UK each year. A meeting consists of the group assembling on a Friday night from all parts of the country. Friday evening is then spent in the bar, swapping biking anecdotes and tales, and imbibing large quantities of the local brew. Saturday dawns with a hearty cholesterol-laden traditional Bikers Breakfast. A ride is then organised to take in local sights, and in particular the best local biking roads, with regular breaks for food, drinks and map-reading. This usually finishes back in the bar of our hotel with a few drinks before a sponsored dinner, with tales of the day's exploits becoming progressively less believable as the evening progresses. Sunday morning consists of a club meeting, and a hour of approved medical education. Some folks make their way home early, if they have a long journey, whilst others may head for the local bikers Sunday morning haunts before departing. You don't have to be a track God, Carl Fogarty or a speed freak to enjoy the meetings. You don't even have to be male - we have two female regulars at meetings and others who are QQMCC members. All are welcome - customs and crotch rockets, 125's to V-Max's, beginners to experienced riders. There are also members from hospital specialties, general practice, pharmaceutical companies, universities and NHS. Check out reports of our meetings to see what really goes on!
In response to the interest from overseas, and the need for members to keep in touch between meetings, a mailing list has been set up. This means that you can circulate all members of Quick Quacks who have e-mail addresses by sending an e-mail to a central mailing address. Membership is FREE and you don't have to be a member of Quick Quacks to join the list. Click below to subscribe. Don't put anything in the subject line of the e-mail, and don't attach a signature. Just type subscribe QQMCC in the e-mail message and send it off. Full instructions on how to use the list will be sent to you when your request to subscribe has been successful.

Although we aren't large enough yet to form local groups, some members might wish to organise informal local meetings and get-togethers in between the twice-yearly club meetings. This is easy using the e-mail list, but if you want to know about other possible contacts in your area, please mail me, and I'll check if there are any other motorcycling medics near you. Likewise, mail me if you want to meet up with other biking doctors at national motorcycling events, such as the BMF Show, the NEC Show, or at racing events, and I'll try and put you in touch with others who are going. We have also been discussing the possibility of attending a track day as a group next year, either in conjunction with Track Tamers, Ixion, or one of the race-schools around the country. If you are interested in this, please mail me with your thoughts. From time to time we have t-shirts made featuring the club logo, or a cartoon courtesy of our resident anaesthetist/cartoonist, Gary the Gasman. Please mail me if you would like a sticker or t-shirt.
